Nekia Hattley

Nekia Hattley has proven to be one the industry’s most extraordinary and versatile fashion designers and stylists. Based in Los Angeles, Ca; her artistic vision, superior quality work and attention to detail allows her to create individualized styles to fit the needs of her ever growing clientele as a stylist, designer for her own high-end couture clothing line Ja`ire International Couture, and wardrobe consultant. Pursuing a childhood dream Nekia Hattley has had since the young age of six, she has long graduated from styling for Barbie into using some of the finest fibers and striking creativity to produce exquisite one of kind pieces and fashion forward designs and styles.

Attending Los Angeles Trade Technical College for a degree in fashion design, after receiving her BA in theater performance, film and screen play writing at California State University of Long Beach, Nekia has studied under Ms. Helen Armstrong and many other fashion greats.  It was there that she received a number of certificates that affirmed her gift for fashion.  It was also there were she was honored with the first place Golden Thimble award for her entry in the Men’s category and was soon impelled and deeply heartened to start her own clothing line, which she called “Ja`ire;” named after her sister who is the essence of what the extremely stylish, revolutionary line stands for (beauty, fun, uniqueness, craziness, creativity, and most of all sexiness). 

As a master of her craft, Nekia stays atop the latest design techniques and fashion trends, constantly working to increase her knowledge of the fashion industry and business as she exercises her exceptional creativity to construct innovative designs and styles. Originally working in costume design and wardrobe, Nekia has used her incredible style and vibrant personality to forge a path in the industry that has led to undeniable success. Having worked alongside Academy Award Designer Tim Chapel, Nekia continues to make an indelible mark as an expert designer and fashion stylist. Working at the top of her field in feature films, music videos, television, print fashion work, fashion shows, and commercials, Nekia’s designs and styles have been seen on the likes of many celebrities including Jennifer Garner, Terry Ellis, Chrystee Pharris, Davetta Sherwood, Lovie Jung, a variety actors, models, entertainers, professional and corporate clients, and industry leaders, among many others.
